REC weighted notification of PV-linked ESS

• The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy (MOCIE) and the solar power plant installed the ESS and notified the electricity discharged through the ESS to the REC weighting 5.0 ('16/9/19)

Application period

• It has been implemented till 2017 (from '18 to adjust the weight by checking the supply situation)

Application

• Weight 5.0 applied to all electricity discharged during the day (18 hours) except for 6 hours from 10:00 to 16:00 during the day

Benefit

• Reduction of power grid connection capacity shortage due to maximum power generation during the daytime (relieves burden on weekly time zone system)
• Responding to high nighttime power demand in spring / autumn and winter

Performance

• For the first time in Korea, Solar-linked ESS will be installed for 4 private solar power plants nationwide by February
